The latest fiveIt's nine o'clock on a Saturday. The regular crowd shuffles in. I'm sure you've heard this one. Some of us live it every week.
Read on LinkedIn ↗Let's take a detour today from the usual corporate talk, I want to talk about something that matters and is extremely important - protein bars. Why do I bring protein bars back from abroad or ask friends and family to bring them for me?
Read the full post →This is a segue from the usual LinkedIn stuff, but I am really excited about the UCI Road World Championships coming to India for the first time. Road Cycling is a sport I have followed from the days of the US Postal team, moving on to Sky and now to UEX. On that note, I wanted to share some side quests I have been working on over the weekends, a lot of vibe coding with my AI partner Instinct: some quizzes, an ISRO space tracker, consolidating my writing, and now something that makes sense to share, a fun calculator for cycling power estimates. Those of you who've known me long know I love quizzing, sports, writing and physics. It is all in there, and I can explain the formula in case you are interested 😉 If you are keen on quizzes, give them a try. And subscribe to my monthly newsletter to stay on top of all the changes that go live on the website. Everything is at badiyala.com I was a bit embarrassed to post this. But then I thought, if I am not being myself here, that goes against why I returned to LinkedIn, which was to be honest with you all. It may seem small-ish to some of you, but I love it. Life happened, but I don't want to disappoint the 20-year-old me. So the side quests are for him.
Read on LinkedIn ↗Here is a radical idea for some of you founders. An evergreen problem with organizations is context building and preserving. People, they come and go, and every new person needs time to ramp up.
Read on LinkedIn ↗How does a company full of smart, hardworking people become slower as it grows? Nobody is lazy. Nobody is deliberately making things complicated. And yet, somehow, everything starts taking longer.

Six possible futures for work, and one fairly confused human. Can I even return to writing without talking about the obvious first?
The Midas touch
There are very few things which have stayed with me for as long as cricket. It was the first exposure for a little boy growing up in small town to engage in something outside of his personal life.
The Fire Ant Ball!
Very few emotions that we as a species are capable of conceiving bear as much duality as nostalgia. You could walk into its illusion and return bruised and wounded on one day, and then, there may be days when…
And they say that a Hero could save us...
At times I dream of saving the world, saving everybody around from that invisible force that pushes us into incapacity, one that renders all of us helpless.
The Force is Strong with this One
In a galaxy far, far away, in a shrouded corner of an alien world, as ‘ The Force Awakens ’, the dent is etched on this side of the universe too, for it marks the renaissance of the beloved inter-galactic, science fiction series – STAR WARS.
Why So SYRI-US ?
Almost a decade and a half has passed since that terrifying Tuesday when four American planes were hijacked and a few moments later a couple of them rammed into one of the world’s greatest office complexes- The World Trade Center.
And then there were More
For a country which has largely found itself enduring a huge cloud of inferiority complex, for a nation where a vast majority of the youth turns towards the west to seek constant recognition for every action…
Rage against the dying of the Light
A stranded astronaut amidst the vastness of ocher grains awaiting help on the red planet, another one piercing through the intense, warping gravity of a giant Black Hole, and then the one in her Michelin-Man…
If you don't Mind...?
Pixar have always been at the top of their game when it comes to extending and conveying countless emotions to the audience by mere means of breathing life into what would otherwise be bland agglomeration of millions of colored artificial dots.
Are you watching closely?
A post which such a clichéd title is expected to usually circumscribe the regular two month long escapade which most people in my friend list are currently excited about, but being a part of the…
My broken Idea of Fairness
I don’t even know if this post will make it to my blog, if it does, it will appear more of a diary note than something meant for an audience for it is more of a documented personal debate that my mind is currently craving for.
Beware the Ides of February!
Since you last saw me here, I have been living an unusual, cricket-less existence. Perhaps, not quite as much as the Indian batting line up in Australia, but painfully cricket-less nonetheless.
New World Order
I have always experienced patterns or connections in random meaningless data, the specific experience of an abnormal ‘meaningfulness’ derived from such pattern searching has forever driven me.
Closing Walls and Ticking Clocks
How often do you find yourself mired in an obstacle, being sucked into a black hole of sorts, trying to pull yourself out of something which you believe even light cannot escape?
Lifting up an empty cup I ask silently..
The road to self-actualization is paved with moments of realizations, times when you start questioning yourself; and to be able to do it in public is a sign of strength and a proof that you’re on the right track.
The X factor!
You've got to play the hand you're dealt. Almost around three months back when I was about to leave Deloitte, the company where I had spent the first twenty one months of my corporate work life.
Not a CAT-A-TONIC !!
After a long hiatus and weeks of relentless encouraging chants from my conscience I finally mustered enough courage to make a comeback.
Defying Reason, Defying Purpose!
How do you choose between Eternity and Infinity? The answer is pretty straightforward; you don’t commit the audacity of choosing one.
The day the Earth stood still
The most extraordinary of stories have the most plain and evident starts, you never quite make out when you’re part of one, it’s only as you tread forward on those ordinary paths that you slowly begin to…
Doing HR the WRITE way!
Even the most shriveled faces with a cagey conscience will be highly generous with one thing - their advice. No matter how jaded the receiver turns after being subject to hours of trite insights into how best…
Bombs for Peace
As we approach the anniversary of one of the most catastrophic events in modern human history, there are a lot of questions that need to be addressed-the most crucial being that of our maturity to handle such crisis in future.
Man of Substance
Not very often a story which has been told many times over manages to enthrall the audience, think of one which has been told to you since your childhood, one which you have grown up living through comic strips and television cartoons.
Question of Credibility
“The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.” It began as a gentleman’s game.
Bird's Eye View
In a world where people seek instant gratification and the fruit of patience is disregarded by all and sundry, one effective way to shoot to stardom and acquire instant success is to challenge the worth of ‘…
Citius, Altius, Fortius, ... ?
I have a slightly unusual taste, be it in sports or for that matter in ladies. And no matter by the end of it how much you would have wanted me to talk about the latter, fortunately this post is only going to focus on the former.
Knock 'em off - one by one!
When a friend of mine asked me to answer the following question on Quora, there was no way I could have let the opportunity slip out of my hands. Q. Thapar University: What are the 10 things you must do before you graduate from Thapar University?
Anniversary of Sorrow
After a relentless battle with my mind, wading through umpteen mazes, I was able to gain access to an enshrouded event cowering behind as tall a wall that could be built by more potent and recent events.
Virendra, just hang in there!
There are very few batsmen in the world who make a tedious and gruelling task like batting look easy. While there are players like Dravid who by their elegant shot making and deft touches strengthen the…
Pulled up a Page!!
…spoke those words with eyes almost as deep and speaking as I had seen before, and cheeks perhaps as fair; brows as arched, a chin and throat almost as shapely.
A Giant Leap!
When Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Michael Clarke would walk out to the centre of the MA Chidambaram Stadium for a flip of the coin, it won’t be the usual walk of authority for the two men; the anxiety and butterflies in the stomach will be more than ever.
Ace up your sleeve
Some time back when I used to enjoy watching Tennis, Roger Federer was an unstoppable force; the Swiss Juggernaut kept on rolling with no sight of an immovable object posing any sort of threat to its motion.
Living Strongly ?
Last year didn’t quite draw to an expected ending with unfortunate instances wrapping up what could have been one of my better years; Tendulkar’s untimely and prompt retirement from the ODIs, the IOC’s refusal…
The End ?
The only constant and persistent attribute in my protean life has been the honour and regard I have had for a gentleman who has the capability to pull masses to any stage, someone who can lift an entire house…

Do I Belong Here ?
Less than a year ago, life felt extremely different than it does right now. The fact that I had a placement offer months before I finally bid adieu to college was something that was way too comforting a factor for me.
The Gods, they envy Him!
How difficult is it to abstain from something you have been doing for more than three quarters of your life? How difficult is it to part with the force which has been driving you since the moment you can think of?
Of ego clashes and dirty politics
There is an air of discomfort and soreness stemming from the Indian cricket team at this moment, riding on the wheel of some dismal captaincy and poor format the team found itself making an early departure from the T20 World Cup yet again.
The ARMSTRONG Legend
“You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain” A week into it and still the world can’t get the name ‘ARMSTRONG ‘off its cache; the week ending 25 th August 2012 forced the…
Humiliating Shambles
The writing is almost there on the wall; a land of a billion people will have to do with just a few grams of gold once again and if this is not enough, also bear the agonizing pain of watching our fellow…
Sweat, Blood and Guts!!
Ever since man has stepped on to this planet, he has had this strong, inviolable desire of establishing his supremacy over nature. Time and again he has accomplished feats which were unthinkable once, and stirred plain logic and rational thinking.

Even Stevens

No Warm Memories

It's been a Year !!
Fifty years down the line when you’ll be narrating a story of your times, HIS-Story (sic) as it shall be christened in that era, to your grandchildren, 2011 won’t come across as a quiet and dull year, rather a year that had myriad stories of its own.
Clinging on to False Hopes
The Average settles for the mundane but the best pursues for the heroic, and this is what keeps our celebrities and politicians gunning for a better self, an approaching new year (especially if it’s the last…
Vis VIVA
Reading my fellow blogger’s post the other day, I was worked up, the post got me thinking on parallel grounds, what’s our role in this huge and complex scheme of things, what’s the reason of our existence??
Cattle in Men's clothes.
So it’s that time of the year when mortals shift gears from a hedonistic lifestyle to the life of an ascetic, nights are no longer spent watching TV Series or playing CS but staring at that Text Book like the “Watchful Protector “ watching over Gotham.
The God of our Times

Boogity Boogity Boogity !!! Let's go racing Boys!!!
The scarlet red Ferrari with Michael Schumacher behind the wheels cannonballing through the race track under the Indian skies was one of my persistent yearnings ever since I started following the high velocity and adrenaline driven sport.
